Laurel Heger was born and grew up in Minneapolis . She spent a great deal of time reading fairy tales, myths and storybooks.
Wanting an adventure of her own, Laurel worked as a Maritime Cook on fishing vessels, crabbers, freighters and tenders in the Bearing Sea and many inlets of Alaska, until moving on to a new adventure of owning a small cottage boat shop on Harstene Island and raising her son.
Laurel loves writing storybooks for children, mushroom hunting, and hedgehogs. She currently makes her home in the Pacific Northwest and volunteers in her community. Laurel is an author of three published storybooks, and one juvenile non-fiction. Thank you for exploring our site.
